JEWISH ACADEMY OF ORLANDO CELEBRATES PURIM WITH MUCH FANFARE

Jewish Academy of Orlando (JAO) celebrated Purim with a megillah reading, party, performances, delivery of mishloach manot (Purim baskets), and grogger sculpture creations. Third-grade students performed in the annual Purim play that tells the holiday’s story through music and dance.

JEWISH ACADEMY OF ORLANDO FIRST GRADERS ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD

Jewish Academy of Orlando second graders completed their
annual space unit with the Sun, Moon, and Stars Space Show where each student
demonstrated his or her knowledge of our solar system through music, song, and
dance.The program included dialogue and songs about gravity, the moon and stars,
planets, and the sun.

JEWISH ACADEMY OF ORLANDO PARTNERS WITH CHRISTIAN AND MUSLIM SCHOOLS FOR MULTIFAITH PROGRAM

Jewish Academy of Orlando fifth grade students partnered with with Muslim peers from Leadership Preparatory School and Christian peers from Geneva School in, “Trees for Peace,” a multifaith tree planting service held at Mead Gardens. The tree planting is the second of the schools’ 3-part Multifaith Education Program (MEP) that is now in its 16th year. The students meet at each school to learn about each other’s cultures and religions

JEWISH ACADEMY OF ORLANDO CREATES KINDNESS GARDEN

Jewish Academy of Orlando will break ground for its new Kindness Garden on Monday, January 21st, Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The garden will be a segment of the campus playground. The project is part of a grant to incorporate fine arts in to the school’s Judaic Studies program.

Join us for our Kindness Garden Dedication on Friday, May 17, 2019. We will celebrate Shabbat at 8:15am in the JCC auditorium and then walk to the garden for our dedication ceremony. A reception will follow. Open to the community.

JEWISH ACADEMY OF ORLANDO INCREASES RECESS by 125%

This year, Jewish Academy of Orlando extended recess for all grades to 45 minutes, which for some students is an increase of 125% from the 2017-18 school year. In addition to extended recess time, lunch for all grades was increased to 30 minutes, and a mid-morning break of 15 minutes was included in the daily schedule.
