Field Trip Chaperone Requirements and Acknowledgement

To ensure the safety of Jewish Academy of Orlando’s students, all parents driving students on school sanctioned events such as field trips must have completed a background check through the school’s VECHs program (Volunteer & Employee Criminal History System at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement). Please note that no other adults are allowed to ride in the car or attend a fieldtrip unless they have prior authorization, and if necassary gone through the screening process.

Please contact our office for further information on where to obtain a background screening. In addition, please note minimum insurance requirements stated below.

Transportation Policy Acknowledgment

I am obligated to communicate this information to Jewish Academy of Orlando.
I understand that before I may drive JAO students I must submit my driver’s license
and current insurance card.
I will ensure all children under 12 years of age will not travel in the front passenger seat.
I will ensure everyone in the vehicle is wearing seatbelts.
I understand that I cannot make unscheduled stops to stores, restaurants, banks, gas stations,
etc. unless prior approval is given.
I understand that using a cell phone while driving is prohibited. In the case of an emergency, I
will pull the vehicle over to the side of the road and call 911 or other services.
I understand that all cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vaping or any other forms of smoking are strictly
prohibited.
I understand that any and all medications, prescribed or otherwise to include alcohol or controlled substances which can impair my driving while transporting children is strictly prohibited and
authorities will be called if I am suspected of the use while transporting children.
I will not bring any other children or adults on a field trip unless I have received prior written approval from the executive director.
